rebecca jade and the cold fact
Rebecca Jade
Rebecca Jade broke into the music industry in her teens as a session vocalist, and has thrived performing a bevy of genres while touring internationally and working with luminaries of jazz and R&B. Last year, she joined Sheila E.’s band, and spends much of her time performing with the Queen of Percussion in far flung cities and for televised events around the globe.
When back in home town San Diego, Jade returns to the spotlight fronting Rebecca Jade and the Cold Fact. She teams with prolific lyricist Alfred Howard and the collective of musicians at the root of The Redwoods record label, assembled as a So Cal-spirited successor to the studio ensembles of Stax Records and Muscle Shoals.
Running out of Time
Inspirations reveal themselves in the chewy grooves and punchy brass all over Rebecca Jade and the Cold Fact’s second album. Jade recorded vocals between global tour dates, her bandmates laying down tactile layers over the always hip-swingin backbone of Redwoods’ hard-working rhythm section.
Rebecca Jade and the COld Fact
Redwoods Music recording artists Rebecca Jade and the Cold Fact emerged with their eponymous debut in 2015, firing up nightclubs and festival stages with vibey west coast updates of classic soul genres. The label’s tightly knit house band weaves together elements of funk, gritty soul, and psychedelic rock behind Jade’s sultry voice, which ranges from sweetly smooth to Gospel strong.
